Who is it for?
BloodSTOP and BloodSTOP iX hemostatic gauze can be used on anyone who is bleeding—whether they are bleeding because of a minor cut or a major surgery. It is commonly used in a wide variety of settings—including home first aid kits, school athletic fields, emergency responders' kits, veterinary offices, surgery rooms, dental offices, ob/gyn offices, and battlefields.

How does it work?
When it comes into contact with blood, BloodSTOP hemostatic gauze speeds coagulation and expands to a gel that adheres to the surface and applies pressure as it seals the wound.

What are the BloodSTOP and iX differences?
LifeScience PLUS makes two hemostatic gauze products: BloodSTOP and BloodSTOP iX. They are both water-soluble hemostatic agents made from the finest completely natural cellulose. BloodSTOP hemostatic gauze is often used externally because of its cost-effectiveness; it is made of oxidized cellulose. BloodSTOP iX is used primarily internally; it is made from etherized regenerated cellulose and typically stops bleeding 80% faster than traditional methods and reduces blood loss by 60%.

About BloodSTOP™ and the Military
On and off the battle field, bleeding is a major cause of disability and death for soldiers. Soldiers need a quick and effective way to stop bleeding and protect wounds. Medics and soldiers can use BloodSTOP™ and BloodSTOP™ iX to save blood and lives.

When a bleeding wound occurs from shrapnel or firearms, a soldier or medic can quickly apply a BloodSTOP™ hemostatic gauze to the site, and within seconds it interacts with the blood to form a transparent hemostatic gel shield. This gel shield stops bleeding and protects the wound site from the environment and infectious agents and it has enough tensile strength to keep most wounds or lacerations intact.

While BloodSTOP™ goes to work to reduce blood loss, medics can focus on stabilizing the wounded.

BloodSTOP™ iX is the ideal tool for field surgeons to use internally. It can be custom cut or formed to fit specific surgical needs as well as hard to reach bleeders. In a wide area bleeding situation, surgeons can apply several gauzes to stop the bleeding so they can focus on the operative task.

BloodSTOP gauzes work quickly and are easy to use under the stressful conditions that soldiers face.
